Taking a Break from Your Teen

I remember when my kids were little, getting away for a night or a weekend was a welcomed break. Some parents don’t believe in this…that it somehow makes you less of a mom but I know that the break wasn’t only good for me; it was good for my children as well. I am finding this to be true even now as they are getting older. Having teenagers can be exhausting at times, not necessarily in a physical way but emotionally. So I have to admit, that my daughter going away this weekend is a nice break. We actually both … Continue reading

This is not a topic that people enjoy discussing because no one wants to admit to … Continue reading

This last weekend, I actually had thoughts of beating him with my water bottle, I was so frustrated. But then I calmed down and we sat down to talk. I asked my husband to help me understand how I … Continue reading

When You Don’t Agree

Did you have fun with the quiz? Do you find out anything you didn’t know about your spouse? Sometimes a quiz can highlight areas where we are different. Many times it won’t matter if his favorite color is red and yours is blue, except maybe when it comes to decorating. If you want to paint a room a color he can’t live with or vice versa, then it could create problems you will have to work through. For example a man I knew years ago would not have any green in his house at all. He hated green. Another male … Continue reading

Too often we are reluctant to do that. But that’s what growing as a Christian is all about, changing to become more like … Continue reading
